Nick Casagran is a young engineer working for a prestigious aviation company. For reasons unknown to him, he is chosen to represent the company on an overseas project to evaluate and, if possible, repair a subsystem in a Head of State Aircraft. Specifically, the airplane of the newly elected President of the Ukraine. With one simple question, “Do you have a passport?” Nick’s life as he knows it is changed forever. In his diligence to do the best job possible, he uncovers what he believes to be an assassination plot against the Ukrainian President by an internationally wanted assassin known only as Shadow. He is quickly thrust into a foreign land, encounters new allies, and makes new enemies. Only able to rely on himself – especially his sharp problem solving ability – Nick has to find a way out from under the Shadow that now wants him dead.
The story unfolds in a primarily linear timeline that takes the reader along Nick’s journey as it unfolds from Miami to Kyiv.
